By performing visually demanding near tasks, the right, amblyopic (lazy) eye is trained.<\/p>\n<\/div><p>Amblyopia is the reduced vision of one or both eyes. This means that in the past, too few visual signals were transmitted from the eye to the visual center in the brain. As a result, the connection between the eye and the visual center in the brain is not sufficiently developed.<\/p><p>If only one eye is affected by amblyopia, the treatment involves disadvantaging the better-seeing eye in some way to &ldquo;train&rdquo; the previously weaker eye.<\/p><p>This training is only possible during the visual development phase, which lasts until approximately 14 years of age.<\/p><p>There are various methods to conduct this therapy. The most well-known is patching therapy, where the better-seeing eye is occluded (covered) with a patch. Beeinflussende Faktoren sind z. B. die Schielform, das Alter des Kindes und der Schweregrad der Schwachsichtigkeit bei Beginn der Therapie. Entsprechend kann die Therapie nur wenige Monate oder auch mehrere Jahre andauern.<\/p><h3 id=\"tipps-zur-amblyopietherapie\" x-data='{ id: \"tipps-zur-amblyopietherapie\", requested: false }' x-on:scroll.document.passive=\"!requested &amp;&amp; requestAnimationFrame(() =&gt; {\n\t\t\t\tlet scrollTop = $el.getBoundingClientRect().top;\n\t\t\t\t$data.scrollPositions.set(id, scrollTop);\n\t\t\t})\">Tipps zur Amblyopietherapie<\/h3><ul>\n<li>Erkl&auml;ren Sie zu Beginn der Therapie Ihrem Kind in Ruhe, weshalb die Therapie wichtig ist.<\/li>\n<li>In den ersten Tagen der Okklusionstherapie kann es sinnvoll sein, diese nur in gewohnter Umgebung durchzuf&uuml;hren.<\/li>\n<li>Zu Beginn kann die Therapie f&uuml;r Ihr Kind aus verschiedenen Gr&uuml;nden st&ouml;rend sein: Es sieht mit dem nicht verdeckten Auge weniger gut als mit dem anderen und\/oder das Pflaster (die Okklusion) st&ouml;rt und ist ungewohnt.<\/li>\n<li>Begleiten Sie Ihr Kind m&ouml;glichst positiv und motivieren Sie es. Wenn Sie m&ouml;chten, belohnen Sie Ihr Kind am Ende der Therapie.<\/li>\n<li>Benutzen Sie die Okklusion nie als Strafe.<\/li>\n<li>Ein Durchf&uuml;hren der Therapie bei visuell anspruchsvollen T&auml;tigkeiten (z. B.
